The Ancient Greece- Amphitheatre

Very large to accommodate large number of people on stage and the audience. Around 14,000 people in the audience. The name amphitheatre (alternatively amphitheatre) is given to a public building of the classical period (being particularly associated with ancient Rome) which was used for spectator sports, games and displays. The important distinction between an amphitheatre and a theatre is that an amphitheatre is round or oval in shape (whereas a theatre is semi-circular). However, an amphitheatre differs from a circus, which was used for racing.

This lesson I have done:
I have done some research on musicals from 1960's-1970's for example Grease I have done that with the group I work with in class, the rest of my group watch some video clips of Grease and looked at some of the songs and special effects from the video.

This is were I watch the performance "dancing in the streets" in Alexandra Theatre.

Thursday, 1 October 2009

On Thursday the 24 of September I went to Alexandra theatre with school to watch a performance "dancing in The streets" in this performance the actors were singing songs of Smokey Robinsons & The Miracles, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Stevie Wonder and many more.
The set design was on old days with a band and in the background were black and white photos of the actors. The costumes were glittery sparkling dresses and suits. Special effects were good lighting, spot light and colourful. The music was played by a band and the actors were singing songs from the golden year. The songs were from motown era, the lyrics of songs also were about love like "love child .

musical timeline

To make this timeline I used many different websites like 101musicals.com Wikipedia and many more I found those web sides on Google.
